Jungle Bodies, as an idea, began in late 2010, in a Weslaco, TX bedroom. Over time, the project grew into a duo, and eventually found its prime in a quartet structure, with a few shifting members over the years. I had never been in a band, and I'd wanted to, not necessarily because it was cool, but because the idea of performing in front of people seemed like an appropriate place for me at a time when I felt very displaced. I grew up pretty sheltered, and didn't have access or knowledge of a lot of things like live music, or music in general. So I would live vicariously through the bands I admired. Until one day this happened. My friend Patrick had booked Wavves to play in McAllen and was at a loss for bands to book that would 'fit' the bill. So I vowed to start a band that would do just that, and though Wavves cancelled to go see Ghostface Killah in Austin the day after the show (class move by Nathan Williams, gentleman extraordinaire btw) the band idea lived on, and finally caught some momentum with the help of likeminded individuals--people I did not know existed. We played our last show the same day this was released. "Todo" is a collection of all the work Jungle Bodies has on record, excluding two releases, both live performance captures (The Pillow Fort Sessions, and a session we did for the Live at Beerland tape out on LAFM). There were always ideas floating around, with many never completed, but if there was ever any 'definitive' collection of this band's moment in time, this would be it. Originally released as a run of 50 CDs, this--U-Punk's first release as a label--has as of October 14th, 2016, sold out. There are no plans to do another run, as I believe the people who wanted one of these, were able to get their hands on one; JB never really "made it" and so the purchase radius of this release was predicted to be rather small.
